Relationship to Proposed Casino

CalTrans is responsible for SR-94 which is the main artery into Jamul. CalTrans has reported that SR-94 is unacceptable for the current traffic. Increasing the traffic on SR-94 will only worsen an already unsafe route. CalTrans currently has no plans or funding for a significant upgrade of SR-94 between Rancho San Diego and the location of the proposed casino. Estimates for the funds needed to provide safe transit based on the increased number of trips due to the proposed casino exceed $500M dollars <CHECK FACTS>. This is an unfunded result of the proposed casino.

Position

The position of the CalTrans is currently unknown.
